Dental Implant Placement for an Overdenture
A Two-Day Lecture and Hands-On Workshop

This program is designed for dentists of all specialties who have limited or no experience with dental implants. Attendees will learn the theoretical basis as well as the diagnostic, radiographic, treatment planning and practical procedures for the placement of dental implants to secure an overdenture using different types of abutment attachments. Hands-on exercises will be performed on specially designed mandibular models.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

 

 Discuss bone biology and
•  Osseo integration for clinical success
 Describe basic surgical techniques
•  and drilling sequences
 Perform the pre-implant dental examination
 Develop an implant treatment plan for  
•  implant placement and restoration
Prepare the surgical site for the placement
of two implants
 

 Select the optimal retention attachment
•  to achieve the desired result
Take accurate impressions to fabricate
a new overdenture
Modify an existing denture to utilize implants

Part I – Lectures
• Dental implants – short overview
• Overdentures: types and definitions
• Patient evaluation
• Anatomical considerations
• Treatment planning
• Attachment types and selection: Ball attachments
  – uses and benefits, Anchor precision attachments
 – uses and benefits

Part II: Lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops
• Treatment planning.
• Protocol on placement of dental implants.
• Protocol on dental implant impressions.
• Hands-on model activities including: Extracting a
dental implant, Osteotomy preparation, Dental implant
placement and Occlusal considerations.
• Hands-on designing the cemented prostheses:
Impression  techniques and abutment types
and  selection.
• Exercise evaluation and conclusions.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
To cancel your registration please notify the Dental Implant Training Center immediately and you will be issued a refund. Cancellations made less than 5 business days prior to course start date will be subject to a $250 cancellation fee. Please allow four to six weeks for refunds. “No shows” will not qualify for a refund.
