Dental Implant Hands-on Training for Assistants
Half-Day Hands-on Course on the Procedures and Tools Utilized in Dental Implant Placement and Restoration  
This program is supported through an unrestricted educational grant by MIS Implants Technologies, Inc.
 
 


This course is designed for dental and surgical assistants who have minimal or no working experience with dental implants, and would like to further their dental implant skills. Through lectures and demonstrations, participants will learn and review proper implant surgical and prosthetic procedures and the various tools involved, and will gain the knowledge and skills to effectively assist the dental implant surgeon and prosthodontist. At the conclusion of the course, participants will take home a review guide of the proper sequence of dental implant procedures, as well as a picture guide of the most popular parts utilized in these procedures.

 
 


Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be able to:

 
 

 Identify most popular dental implant types
    and their components
 Identify the type and function of most surgical
    tools normally involved in the dental
    implant surgical procedure
 Properly set up the surgical tray. Identify the various prosthetic parts used in dental implant  restorations
 Learn and implement the proper nomenclature for dental implant surgery and restorations

 
 


Curriculum

 
 

• Introduction to dental implants and definitions
• Anatomy of an implant
• Dental implant surgical procedure:
   - Explanation of the sequence of events
   - Review of the role of the dental assistant
• Hands on workshop – surgical procedures
   - Setting the surgical motor for dental implant placement
   - Examination of the surgical kit, drills, and other tools
   utilized in the surgical procedure

• Prosthetic procedure:
   - Review the proper nomenclature for implant restorations
   - Review of impression techniques
   - Examination of different prosthetic components
   - type and special function
• Hands on workshop – restorative procedure
   - Examination and use of tools
   - Selecting the proper restorative components
   - Placing prosthetic parts together
• Question and Answer session

Cancellation and Refund Policy
To cancel your registration please notify the Dental Implant Training Center immediately and you will be issued a refund. Cancellations made less than 5 business days prior to course start date will be subject to a $250 cancellation fee. Please allow four to six weeks for refunds. “No shows” will not qualify for a refund.
